The 38th National Student Scientific Week (Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional/PIMNAS) was held in Makassar. The Student Creativity Program – Exact Sciences Research (PKM-RE) team, supervised by me (Dr. Khoirul Rista Abidin, M.Biomed), brought five students from the Diploma IV Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program of Politeknik Aisyiyah Pontianak. The team presented a research project entitled “Formulation of Ethanolic Extract Cream of M. speciosa and Its Effectiveness Test on Psoriasis Model Rats.” The team’s participation in PIMNAS in Makassar took place from 22 to 29 November 2025.
The team’s departure to Makassar was fully sponsored by Politeknik ’Aisyiyah Pontianak as a form of institutional appreciation. Although the team did not manage to bring home a medal, as a supervisor I am very proud of their achievement for successfully qualifying for PIMNAS, being listed among the 420 selected teams out of 1,530 funded research projects, and being selected from a total of 33,090 PKM proposals submitted to the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa).
As a result of this event, Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) once again became the overall champion, followed by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in second place.
